Dog Spreader
Spreading force = 1 T
The Equalizer DS1TE Dog Spreading Tool has been designed in order to assist in the installation
of Dog Clips during assembly and dis-assembly of wellhead connectors.
The tool is powered by means of a factory pre-set hand held hydraulic pump which
forces apart the spreading lugs of the tool when primed. The tool is positioned
onto the Dog ledge between the last two Dog clips which have been inserted into the
wellhead connector.
The DS1TE Dog Spreader will push the Dogs apart while following the internal radius
of the connector ensuring good contact at all times with the Dog clips.
The DS1TE Dog Spreader also acts as a landing table for the last Dog to be inserted.
When the ultimate spreading distance is achieved and the safety lock has clicked
into place then the last Dog Clip can be set down onto the DS1TE Tool using
the Dog Clip Lifting Tool suppied in the Kit.
The Dog Clip can then be guided into position before releasing the safety lock and
opening the release valve on the pump which will allow the Dogs to come
together.
